Dental Implants
Dental implants are natural-looking replacements for missing teeth that provide the same function as a natural tooth root. The implant itself is a small, sturdy titanium post that, when placed, acts as the original root structure did. After bone has grown around the implant, implants can hold a crown or bridge.
In most cases, dental implants require two surgical procedures.
- The first, to place the implant
- The second (3 to 6 months later), to uncover the implants and attach small posts which will anchor the crown or bridge
